Biographical summary
Dr. Mahesh Seetharam is a hematologist and oncologist at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. He currently serves as a Consultant in the Division of Hematology/Oncology and as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
Dr. Seetharam earned his MBBS from Mysore Medical College in India before continuing medical training in the United Kingdom and the United States. His postgraduate training included residencies and fellowships at the National Cancer Institute, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Stanford University Hospital. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.
His clinical and research expertise focuses on sarcomas and cutaneous oncology, where he has played a pivotal role in expanding the sarcoma program at Mayo Clinic Arizona. Under his leadership, the sarcoma program has grown into a premier referral center, offering multidisciplinary care and a robust clinical trial portfolio. Dr. Seetharam also leads initiatives in cutaneous cancers.
Beyond his clinical and research contributions, Dr. Seetharam is involved in medical education, mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows. He has held leadership roles in various professional organizations, including the Arizona Clinical Oncology Society (TACOS).
